I can tell from your about me box that we have some things in common. The truth is critically important to every writer. Even in fiction the truthfulness of characters or authentic feel of the story is the only thing that engages readers and holds them fast. Self-depreciation keeps us from getting a swelled head or inflated ego, becoming so full of ourselves that we might float away inflated by our own hot air. Sarcasm is the only viable defense against a world where the absurd and ridiculous to often are the norm. Here's wishing you all the best and, may you never run out of things about which to write.
